![🥁 Introducing my thirteenth exhibition piece..
✨Where Virtue Rises✨
▪️Canvas board size - 100 x 100 cm
▪️Mixed Media plus rose prickles (thorns).
In the stillness of divine humility, Christ’s face emerges from the void; pure white and untouched by shadow. His gaze falls gently, not in judgment, but in compassion. The clay carries the quiet wounds of His final hours, the softened marks of suffering, the tenderness of His last breath (my own interpretation of what He may have looked like in those closing moments). He is the axis of light, the eternal calm at the heart of creation.
From His presence radiate seven colourful orbs representing the seven heavenly virtues, each a fragment of divine essence, scattered like stars across the blackness of human struggle. Each orb glows with its own frequency of grace:
Humility
Kindness
Patience
Charity
Chastity
Diligence
Temperance
Yet all are bound by the same golden current that flows from Christ above… separate yet one, distinct yet united in purpose.
The black background is not emptiness but the womb of creation, the silence from which light is born. Against it, the virtues shine as reminders that even in darkness, divine order persists.
Christ’s light does not command; it invites. The virtues below do not orbit Him in obedience, but in harmony; each one a testament to the possibility of transcendence through moral beauty..
This piece is not about perfection.
It is about aspiration and the eternal reaching of humanity toward something higher, softer, and more luminous.
A reminder that virtue doesn’t shout…
It glows from below….✨💫

This piece was created for my dear friend on 16.08.25, a small cosmic tribute to their Star‑Wars‑themed wedding, which was nothing short of spectacular.
I painted it with the idea of two people building their own universe; colours folding into each other like galaxies meeting, pinky-red and turquoise drifting through the dark like nebulae forming new light.
A year on, it still feels like a quiet echo of that day… love expanding, orbiting, settling into something beautifully infinite.

This piece is my cubist tribute to our beautiful fur babies Theo and Bella. Jazz is always drifting through our home, and I wanted that rhythm to live inside the shapes and colours of this work.
Theo forever zooming, full of wild energy is painted in sharp yellows and blacks, his body stretching forward in fractured motion.
Bella calm, elegant and poised, sits in softened creams and golds, her geometry steady and serene.
The deep green background holds them both, like the quiet hum of music behind their personalities.
A subtle gold line connects them; a little thread of harmony that mirrors the way they move through our space, different but always intertwined.
This artwork blends my love for cubism with the whimsical language of Wonderland which I recently exhibited as well as capturing the spirit of our home and the two souls who fill it.

In this piece, Alice sits at the centre of a fractured dream, surrounded by the familiar figures of Wonderland, each splintered into shifting planes of colour and thought. The White Rabbit clutches his watch as time bends around him; the Cheshire Cat’s grin floats like a secret between worlds; the Mad Hatter’s teacup tilts at impossible angles.
The composition moves through geometric fragments and layered perspectives, echoing the emotional language of Cubism, not imitation, but transformation. Each shape feels like a thought caught mid‑motion, each colour a whisper of memory.
The neutral space between them holds the silence of curiosity; a pause before the next impossible moment. In that stillness, the viewer is invited to wander through the puzzle of perception, to find meaning in the fractured harmony, and to glimpse the strange clarity that lives between imagination and reality.

🌚Nocturna🌚
✨A Midnight Odyssey - Journey of the unconscious mind👤✨
▪️Canvas board size - 100 x 150 cm
▪️Media - Acrylic and oil paint, oil pastels and felt tip pen.
Inspiration - This piece was inspired by a very famous New York artist called Jean-Michel Basquiat @basquiatofficial whom I learned about during my recent trip there, visiting various galleries in SoHo and seeing some of his famous works.
His art style is primarily categorised as Neo-expressionism, characterised by its raw, energetic, and emotionally charged approach. He also incorporated elements of graffiti, street art, and primitivism into his distinctive style. His work is known for its bold colors, expressive brushwork, symbolic imagery, and inclusion of text and symbols.
I hope that I have captured his signature style well for this piece and as an homage to a truly talented artist who sadly passed away at the tender age of 27.
This is a journey of one’s thoughts, experiences and views manifesting in the unconscious mind …a midnight odyssey.. snippets of my life story 💫

This is the love story of the famous Mexican singer and the English Gentleman.
Persecuted and banished in Mexico, the songbird supreme had to endure the rough seas; finally reaching England.
Entering a Molly House there stood the handsome librarian.
After various visits, an indescribable passion grew culminating into an all-encompassing, unconditional feeling of love.
Wanting more…

Inspiration - This piece was inspired by our beautiful couple Ro and David. I empathise with what many have endured and the journey its taken just to be free and to love.

Studio 54 was the iconic New York nightclub; a place where the elite and the outcasts danced side by side under the disco’s dazzling lights. It was also synonymous with some of the most fantastic fashion moments of the 1970s.
For this piece I wanted to pay homage to THE GRACE JONES, the QUEEN OF FASHION…entering the famous Studio 54 club in all her fashionable glory…the captains hat, sequins and jewels…one last time…💖💫✨

💫The last Ghost Dance💫

The ‘Ghost Dance’ was a late-nineteenth-century American Indian spiritual movement.
The religion took many forms, but its principal ideas were that the spirits of the dead would be raised, the buffalo would return, and European settlers would be driven away.
A dance was the central focus of the ritual - a circle dance during which dancers experienced mystical visions of the dead and the new world to come.
After the massacre at Wounded Knee, the ghost dance movement was essentially broken. While some scattered resistance to white rule arose in the following decades, the battles between Native Americans and whites in the West had ended.
This piece depicts the final ghost dance - the end of one’s spritual journey and way of life which they held so dear....
The war paint was worn to signify and activate one’s spiritual power, to reveal their identity and for protection.
Chanting for the last time...

Father, give us back our arrows.’

Apart from the above which was also on the information card next to the piece, there is no narrative to be ascribed to this artwork although I would love to read what you think this piece depicts in the comments and in the spirit of DYSTOPIA!
I would like to dedicate this piece to both mine and my husband’s grandparents who are no longer with us but whom were such a loving force in both our lives (they are represented as stars in the piece) and also both our parents whom attended the exhibition to support me on the night.
Thank you especially to my mom and dad for all their love and support throughout the years, for believing in me and all the decisions I have made in my life (good or bad) even though at times they went against the grain …LOVE YOU BOTH IMMEASURABLY ALKA AND DINESH LALJI MANDALIA❤️
